"Weatherbane" is a very general term. It basically means 'sea monster', more particularly, long whale like creatures t hat fall into a similar category.

Quite interesting! While I am aware that this is obviously fantasy, I'm still curious as to why an aquatic creature has legs? Does it rests on land, perhaps? Wouldn't it be too heavy for two pairs of thin limbs?
Sorry for the load of questions, but I find it quite fascinating!
